Inter-organizational systems use and supply chain performance: Mediating role of supply chain management capabilities

Inter-organizational Systems (IOS) are network-enabled information systems that extend boundaries of an organization. There is a growing interest among researchers and practitioners to understand how the use IOS enhances firm performance. In this study, we examine impacts organization’s supply chain management (SCM) capabilities Drawing on resource-based view theory, two mechanisms essential for enhanced performance: (a) efficient external utilization regarding its networked partners (b) maximization organizational in management. Using data from 193 respondents various manufacturers distributors fast-moving consumer goods, confirm all hypotheses posited research model. The results demonstrate dual effect improving operational performance, SCM capabilities, mediating role capabilities. We discuss contributions study practice.
